
Alberto Medina is a PICU Consultant in Hospital Universitario Central de Asturias (Oviedo, Spain).
He has more than 25 years of experience in Paediatric Intensive Care. He is a founding member of the Respiratory Failure working group for the Spanish Paediatric Critical Care Society, as well as a member of the Respiratory group in the ESPNIC since 2010.
He was chairman for Professional Development at the ESPNIC until 2023.
He is editor of over fifteen books in the PICU area, twelve of which are directly related to paediatric and neonatal mechanical ventilation. Author of more than two hundred publications.
His passion is education and he has been faculty (nationally and internationally) for courses covering: CPR, trauma, transport, simulation, mechanical ventilation, non-invasive mechanical ventilation, ARDS.

Iwona Maroszyńska- Specialist in pediatrics and neonatology. Head of the Clinic for Intensive Care and Congenital Anomalies of Newborns and Infants at the Polish Mother's Health Center Institute in Lodz.
Chairwoman of the Lodz Branch of the Polish Neonatal Society. Since 2021, Director of the Polish Mother's Health Institute.
Clinical areas of interest: neonatal respiratory failure, circulatory disorders in newborns, and optimizing care for newborns with congenital malformations.
Research interests: monitoring and treatment of microcirculation disorders in newborns and prevention of perioperative infections in newborns.

Jan Clausen is a Consultant in Pediatric Cardiac Critical Care at Charité University Hospital (Berlin, Germany) and a NICU consultant at University Hospital Minden (Germany). He is a board-certified pediatrician with subspecialty certifications in pediatric cardiology, pediatric intensive care medicine, and neonatology.
He serves as Principal Investigator on multiple studies focused on optimizing mechanical ventilation in children with congenital heart disease and in neonatal and pediatric patients with severe respiratory failure requiring extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO).
His clinical and research interests include mechanical ventilation, high-frequency oscillatory ventilation (HFOV), cardiopulmonary interactions, electrical impedance tomography (EIT), transpulmonary pressure monitoring, and neonatal and pediatric acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS).

Katarzyna Fortecka-Piestrzeniewicz is a pediatrician and deputy head of the Clinic for Intensive Care and Congenital Anomalies of Newborns and Infants.
She has been working at the Polish Mother's Hospital (ICZMP) since 2007, where, under the supervision of Professor Iwona Maroszyńska, she gained knowledge and experience in the care of newborns and infants requiring intensive care.
Due to the department's focus on providing comprehensive care for critical ill children, the doctor's primary area of interest is newborns and infants with congenital anomalies, including severe congenital heart defects. Modern perioperative care, optimal mechanical ventilation, circulatory support, and ECMO therapy are both hard work and a passion.

Dorota Zasina-Olaszek- A specialist in neonatology and pediatrics in Clinic for Intensive Care and Congenital Anomalies of Newborns and Infants at the Polish Mother's Health Center Institute in Lodz.
She is a doctor in neonates ambulance, manly focused on neonates respiratory failure.
In her professional career, she develops a method for mechanical ventilation using electrical impedance tomography. As an employee of the Medical University of Lodz, she shares her knowledge and experience with students from all around the world. In her free time, she spends time on polishing her figure skating skills.
